Philodendron 'Bette Waterbury'
$36.00
Philodendron 'Bette Waterbury' is a highly coveted, rare climbing aroid prized by plant collectors for its dramatic, multi-lobed foliage. Frequently called the "bunny ear" or "rabbit ear" Philodendron, its elongated green leaves develop a striking, exaggerated hourglass shape with large upper lobes as the plant matures. Originally observed on Roberto Burle Marx's famous estate in Brazil and logged under the Missouri Botanical Garden number 69686, it was later named in honor of dedicated aroid collector and hybridizer Bette Waterbury.
This vigorous climbing vine thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and prefers a chunky, well-draining aroid soil mix. To keep it healthy, allow the top two inches of soil to dry out between waterings, and maintain warm temperatures with moderate to high humidity. Providing a moss pole or trellis mimics its natural habitat, which encourages the plant to produce much larger, more pronounced "bunny ear" leaves that can grow up to 24 inches in length. It makes a stunning, low-maintenance statement piece for any rare plant collection.
